Learning outcome

After participating in this webinar attendees will be able to:

  • describe the relationship between temporomandibular dysfunction and headache;
  • go through the clinical reasoning process in patients with TMD and headache and reason by whom the treatment should be initiated.

During this webinar, the physiotherapeutic process in patients with temporomandibular dysfunction and headache will be discussed, as described in the thesis ‘Temporomandibular Disorders and Headaches: Two Pains, One Face’. First, the relationship between TMD and various headache types is discussed, as well as which factors influence this. Then the diagnosis of TMD and headache is discussed, followed by the therapeutic process.
The webinar ends with a recommendation for multidisciplinary collaboration in this population and there is room for questions.
